Sistema Tulsa will host a summer camp from June 17-21.
MORNING SUMMER CAMP: BEGINNER ELEMENTARY students participate in choral ensembles, electives (such as Orff, recorder, ukulele, percussion, movement, and singing) plus community building activities. Other Elementary students with prior instrumental experience will form ensembles and play chamber music.
AFTERNOON SYMPHONIC WORKSHOP: MIDDLE SCHOOL AND HIGH SCHOOL students join a symphony orchestra with daily sectional and full rehearsals and other team building activities.
Challenging repertoire and encouraging learning environment. Great resume and experience builder.
The program is open to young musicians with experience in any band or orchestra instrument (these include violin, viola, cello, bass, flute, clarinet, oboe, bassoon, french horn, trumpet, trombone, tuba and all percussion).
All current Sistema Tulsa and Tulsa area young musicians are encouraged to attend the free camp. There will be a final celebration concert.
9 a.m. to noon for ELEMENTARY STUDENTS (If you would like to play an instrument who must have prior 1 year of experience - if your student is a new beginner in music we will welcome them on the choir, movement and percussion instruments track)
2 p.m. to 5 p.m. for MIDDLE SCHOOL AND HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS (Instrumentalists with an early intermediate to advanced levels)
All students participate on Friday, June 21 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. for a celebration and concert!
Many students consider a summer camp experience as a preview of Sistema Tulsa for the following academic year!
