EP PROGRAM - SATELLITE SITES
SISTEMA SATELLITES are a partnership of the Tulsa Public Schools, Sistema Tulsa and the Opportunity Project and are envisioned as free after-school music education support programs based on the Sistema Tulsa Elementary Program (EP) model in operation at Wayman Tisdale Fine Arts Academy (since 2021), Mayo Demonstration Academy (since 2022), Owen Elementary (since 2022), Grissom Elementary (since 2023). Students meet twice a week and are taught Strings and Band instruments and vocal music primarily by Sistema Tulsa faculty and the school music teacher when available. Students travel to the Sistema main hub by TPS bus twice a semester and perform twice a year together with the larger Sistema Tulsa community in large scale community concerts. Our long-term goal is to host and sustain 10 satellites across the school system.
